Q How much Biomass fuel will it use?
The V3.90 system will consume approximately 110-115kg/hr of wood pellets. The system will generate 165kW electrify and will efficiently run for 8,000 hours each year
Q What are the benefits of the system?
As well as the 165kW of electrical power produced which qualifies for ROC payments any excess can be exported back into the grid, there is also a by-product of process heat. A typical 165kW system will provide about 260kW thermal heat heating the water to around 90°C. Approximately 190kW heat from the Biomass CHP and 70kW heat from the Gasifier can be utilised for many purposes such as a district heat network, process drying and space heating all of which qualify for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
Q What about service and maintenance?
The Gasifier is equipped with various filters and ash removal systems. Gas produced is continually monitored and assessed with poor quality gas expelled from the gasifier and sent to the flare where it is burnt off. Very little waste ash is generated from the pellets in the gasifier –1,000 tonnes of pellet burnt will produce approximately 8-10 tonnes of ash. Daily maintenance consists of checking the gas values, compressors, motors and gearboxes pressures and temperatures which can be done remotely. We recommend a visual inspection of the system and reactor levels and replace the ash bags when necessary. The wood gasifier should be check over fully weekly, with a vacuum of the gas reactor and removal of slag every 4-6 weeks.

Electric Capacity - 3 phase electric supply is required for the plant operation and data systems, along with export to the grid.
